These books are bound in a very simple but rugged way. The cover and 96 pages are punched through and a matching long leather thong is woven through the spine to secure the book. They are tied shut by slim thongs at the fore-edge of the book.

This binding style has the additional benefit that you can undo the thong and take the book apart to rearrange or add new pages.
